1990 Calculation of Thermodynamic Properties of Binary Mixtures by Modified BWR State Equation
Binary mixtures have gained extensive interest as a new working fluid of a Rankine cycle operated with small temperature difference and a heat pump. The cycle efficiency is improved by using the sliding temperature of the binary mixture during the condensation and evaporation processes. When the binary mixtures are used as the working fluid, it is necessary to calculate the thermodynamic properties and the transport properties. In this paper the thermodynamic functions are derived by using Modified BWR Equation of state, and the calculation methods of enthalpy, entropy, specific heat, and phase equilibrium are presented. Subroutine programs of these calculations are also shown.
