1992 Thermo-fluid Dynamic Design of Single-stage Axial Ammonia Turbines for OTEC
Efficiency and performance calculation are performed for the single-stage axial turbines for closed cycle OTEC at the given design condition. The parameters in the turbine efficiency consist of a number of nozzle and rotor blades, turbine revolution, reaction degree, nozzle outlet angle, and velocity ratio. The numerical results are shown for 1000kW output with ammonia as the working fluid. Also an off-design performance analysis is carried out. The numerical results are shown when values of the turbine inlet and outlet temperatures are varied from the design point.
