1995 Theoretical Study on Turbulent Film Condensation on a Vertical Plate
Many theoretical investigations have been conducted to calculate the mean heat transfer coefficients for turbulent film condensation. However, these theoretical results do not agree with experimental data.
This paper deals with the theoretical study on turbulent film condensation on a vertical plate. To solve the governing equations, continuity equation, momentum equation and energy equation, a new model for eddy diffusivity is proposed. The dimensionless variables are introduced to nondimensionalize the governing equations. The dimensionless governing equations are numerically solved using finite-difference method.
A correlation for the prediction of local Nusselt number is proposed and is shown to be in agreement with experimental data.
